IGFA Report
New world record catches from the IGFA

Using a sardine for bait while fishing Cancun, Mexico, Martin T. Gnad, Selden, NY, USA, guided by Carl Mizuel, landed a queen triggerfish (Balistes vetula) on January 26.  Gnad has applied for an IGFA All-Tackle record for the fish which weighed 6.44 kg (14 lb 3 oz). The current IGFA record is 9 lb 4 oz (4.2 kg) caught in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina in 2006.
