Thomas & Thomas Apex Rods
Featuring a lightweight, unsanded blank and an ultra-fast taper, Apex is engineered with highly compressed graphite that migrates epoxy resins to the surface.
Apr 30, 2008

For the highly skilled fly-fisherman, Thomas & Thomas unveils its Apex series of saltwater rods. Offered in 8- to 10-weight models, these rods are designed for anglers capable of double-hauling 80 feet all day long.

Featuring a lightweight, unsanded blank and an ultra-fast taper, Apex is engineered with highly compressed graphite that migrates epoxy resins to the surface. This creates an incredibly nick-resistant and wind-cutting rod surface, according to the company. Apex rods are offered in two- and four-piece models, which are fitted with diamond-polished, oversized snake guides and silicone carbide stripping guides. MSRP ranges from $650 to $750. www.thomasandthomas.com.
