IGFA Measuring Device

Now, with a new measuring device created by the IGFA, anglers have a shot at getting a record based on length

Have you ever wanted to go down in the International Game Fish Association’s record book for an outstanding catch but didn’t want to chance injuring or killing the fish for the sake of a record? Now, with a new measuring device created by the IGFA, anglers have a shot at getting a record based on length rather than weight. For records in this category, all IGFA rules and equipment regulations apply, minus a few exceptions. This record category is to promote catch-and-release; therefore, the use of gaffs are prohibited. Landing nets are allowed, but check with the IGFA on net stipulations. All fish must be measured using an official IGFA measuring device, and if the fish dies during the documentation process, the record does not count. MSRP for the device is $49.95; www.igfa.org
