Premium-line manufacturer RIO Products released a series of new saltwater leaders designed specifically for bonefishing and surf-fishing.

The new surf leader is a 5-foot, clear nylon product constructed with a stiffer material than standard leaders. Available in tippet strengths between 6 pounds and 20 pounds, the extra stiffness of this leader - combined with a unique taper design - is designed to throw large saltwater flies into a strong wind. RIO's bonefish leaders are a 9-foot-long fluorocarbon variety featuring a proprietary taper designed to cope with stiff winds and medium-size patterns. Available in tippet strengths from 8 pounds to 20 pounds, each leader comes with a neat perfection loop on the butt end for quick rigging to a fly line.
