RIO bonefish line

RIO's new offering incorporates a medium-length front taper for great turnover capability and a long back taper for smooth, stable loops.

After nearly two years of extensive testing, RIO, one of the world's top manufacturers of saltwater fly lines, has unveiled a beautiful new bonefish line featuring a unique taper that will help anglers accomplish something very important to successful flats fishing: a quick rod load at close range.

RIO's new offering incorporates a medium-length front taper for great turnover capability and a long back taper for smooth, stable loops. That innovation - coupled with a hard saltwater coating over a medium-stiff core, dirt-repelling XS technology and the company's patented Agent X undercoating for superb flotation - produces what certainly will be one of the best bonefish lines on the market.

The new line, available from 6- to 9-weight, also features welded loops at both ends. A beautiful light-sand color in the head and a contrasting dusty-blue running line make finding the perfect loading point a snap! MSRP is $74.95. www.rioproducts.com
