Touting the lightweight qualities of its latest line of saltwater rods, L.L. Bean says its Silver Ghost series weighs 15 to 20 percent less than its predecessor, the Orion. The Silver Ghost is a four-piece design made in four sizes (7-, 8-, 10- and 12-weight) and offering graphite construction and scrims, along with a woven graphite spacer and a skeletonized barrel. The rods are built with Pacific Bay Minima stripping guides and REC Recoil snake guides and feature double locking rings on the reel seat, a responsive tip-flex design and a strong lower-butt section.
