Most people probably associate striped bass with cold New England waters, but the truth of the matter is that these fish are found throughout much of the coastal U.S. from Maine right around to Oregon.

The Holy Grail of tarpon fishing may have been captured and Jim Holland Jr., fishing out of Homosassa, was apparently the lucky angler. After a two hour fight the fish was reported to tape out at 84 inches long and 47 inches in girth with a estimated weight of 204 pounds. Reportedly the fish weighed in at 202 pounds and is a pending 20-pound tippet record. The fish was caught while blind casting near Hammer's Rock in deep water and dragged the boat about 3 miles.
